Paddle Boarding At Lake Ngatu

2 Weeks we went paddle boarding and the lake was called lake ngatu and even we had to walk all the way around the lake we want aloud to go in a car when we walk around the lake we had to 

get our live jacket on then we had to get our paddles after when 

we got on we were going crazy around the place. then We went to 

the other people on the other paddle boards and when we got by 

them we were having a wave fight by them then when we were about to go back my friend fole off the paddle. Then we went to 

got back to the slow to do booms.

Manaiakalani Film Festival - Te Ahu - 7.11.19

Today we went to the Te Ahu center and we got to see all of the people that went there and we got to see the movies that the people made. We made one called Mums' School. Kaingaroa School made one and Ahipara school made one to. The school that came first was Ahipara school and the school that came second was us. When it finished we got to go to McD's and we were only allowed a frozen coke or a ice cream.

Rugby World Cup 2019

In Te Manga we are learning about the Rugby World Cup and I am writing about the animals in Fiji. My animals is a shark a wale
and a turtle. These are some of the animals that I can find. 

I am learning about the climate in Fiji. Last week on Wednesday in Fiji it was filled with lightning and on Thursday it was raining and on Friday it was raining again. I think the weather is different in Fiji from nz.

First Draft - Duffy Theatre - Magic Bricks

Duffy was so excited because he was going to his favourite cousins house.For the school holidays when he got there his cousin was playing magic becks. She was so addicted to magic bricks and after that Duffy put nanas glasses on and started dancing. Then he dissolved in to the game and he got stuk in the game.He had no way to get out and sam had to help. When he got in there was a lady. When he sat on the boxes the lady pushed the boxes off then they got all of the boxes and got people up.When they finished the word the people had to sit back down and the name of the word was intense.

WALT increase our vocabulary by understanding interesting and tricky words in the text 

The first rugby ball was made from a pigs bladder in the early 1800's.People got sick by blowing them up a because they are germ laden. Inflated means

when you are blowing some think up like a tube  or a balloon.

They used a clay pipe as a tube to blow through .

Now they make rugby balls using synthetic material because it is safer and the rugby balls are more durable means it lasts for a long time (Whaea Deb).

Rugby World Cup 2019

Our whole class are learning about the rugby world cup.  My country is Fiji and the capitol city is Suva, the main language in Fiji is Fijian Fijihindi and English.  The animals in Fiji that I found out about are a turtle, shark and a whale.  When we got the booklet we had to draw our flag in the front page.

 

The Great Reading Adventure Assembly

Last Friday Te Tinana and Te Manga had our amazing assembly and the assembly started at 1.30. The story was about the great reading adventure and we  had to sing the duffy Song.

When it started I felt nervous but excited.  In my group it was
Mason charlie lara. Mason was a lion and I was a spaceman and lara was a netball player. I said Saturns rings are made of billions of pieces of ice dust and rocks. some of these parts are as small as a grain of salt while others are as big as a house. That's what I said. 
I heard people laughing and my favourite  part was when  the superheroes came up on the stage.

I love my dad because he always helps me with my Homework And he makes brownies, cakes, and smoothies. He also makes my lunch and everyday he lets my ride my motorbike everyday and he took me to Auckland. He took me fishing  and when we got the fishing rod out I caught a baby fish and he helped me cook it and he makes me not to be shy. I got to go to the Steve Adams training and he helps the whole family and when he gets home he makes me smile and he is the best dad ever.

What was our hypothesis? the sun evaporated quicker and in the shade evaporate

What happened?the water in the shade took all night to evaporate put the one in the sun took 1.45 minutes

how to film and how to make a movie and they all aped on the right side not the light and we did 1 establishing shot and it was sequence of shots and we needed the tripods  cameras and green screen.

When we started we had to put the camera down and 
then we started when we went by the door we had to 
screem because there we had to think there were rats in the room and in the next session we were mint to take in the camera.

There was a clipper, clapper, person, Director, camera person, Sound, Operator, Actors, cameraman.

Ka Pai Kai With Whaea Anna

WALT cook healthy food with Whaea Anna. She is teaching us all about healthy eating. 

My group is group 2. In my group there is Zana, Jai, Charlie and Anahera.We are making pizza. Our recipe needs cheese, pepperoni, tomato paste. I wanted nachos but I changed my mind to pizza. The equipment we will use is a spoon, chopping 

board, paper, tray, knife.  I'm looking forward to eating my pizza and baking my pizza.

The Amazing Water Facts

We are learning about Amazing Water Facts.

An elephant can smell water up to 5 kilometres away. The sun evaporates a trillion (1 000 000 000 000 tonnes of water each day.Water is the only substance on earth that can be found in three different forms solid liquid or gas.          

I was nervous to talk on the camera.  I had to say this is the amazing water facts. We had to tell our amazing water facts too.                                                       

The Lion King - First Draft

Yesterday we went to the Lion King movie and when we got to the Lion King movies we got to have a can of fizzy or water. We got our popcorn then too. We got to go on the seats and the movie went on.  We were watching my favourite characters Sarabi, Mufasa, Simba, Nala, Pumba and Scar.  

Mufasa was the Lion King. All of the beasts were running in the hole then Simba got stak. Mufasa came. Mufasa got Simba then Mufasa climed up but Scar pushed him off. Simba ran away then he went in the desert and he fell asleep. Some birds came then Pumba came running.  

After that they went to a jungle and Pumba said lets be friends, this is Simba.  Nala came then they had to go back home. Simba came too then he went to go and fight Scar. They were fighting the hyena then Simba had to fight Scar.  Simba pushed Scar off the rock then the hyena ate Scar. Now Simba is the Lion King and they had a baby. My favourite part was having popcorn and a can of fizzy. We went through the library then got on the bus to go  back to school. We had lunch and a play on the playground. 

Wonderful Sentences

I have been learning how to copy and paste from our class writing flip charts to share our learning. I know how to insert bullet points and use the highlighting tool.

We know that wonderful sentences need:

• detail (elaboration)
• capital letters and full stops
• Punctuation (, ! ? “ “)
• Quality vocab - WOW  words

WALT recognise different parts of speech.

Nouns are naming words. eg. chair, book, July, Awhi

Adjectives describe nouns.

Eg. wooden chair, writing book, freezing July, lovely Awhi

Verbs are doing words.

Eg run, walk, jump, skip, chew

Adverbs describe verbs.

Eg. briskly running, slowly walking, jumping high, skipping happily and chewing noisily.

EXAMPLES

1. the cat is sad.
2. the black cat is awfully sad because it has no other friends to play with.

3. the cat is sad because it has no home and no where to sleep.

1. The bird is angry. 
2 the  bluey-blackish bird is very angry. 
3 the mean bluey blackish is staring at its mean terrifying furry prey.

Tuna Kuwharuwharu (Longfin Eel)

This term we have been  learning all about the Longfin Eel. Our assembly item was based on the story Velvet and Elvis. This was a story about the migration journey that the longfin eel takes.

I have created 3 different digital learning objects (DLO) to share my learning on this topic. The first is a poster that I created in my topic book about the challenges to the long fin eel. Whaea Deb took a photo of my poster.

I created a longfin eel life cycle using google drawing.

I have also made a google poster to share five interesting facts about the long fin eel.

My Wonderful Reading Video - owls

 I was nervous to read the Owls book and Whaea Sharls had to help me read the book. I had to read on the chrome book. We had to read in the library and I learnt where to find my videos and to embed the video on our blog.

Rarangi Matahiko - Our Learning at Waitangi

Last Tuesday we were going to Waitangi to learn new things and when we got there we saw Whaea  Kerry and Whaea Monika. 
Then we went up the stairs. We walked in a room called the art gallery. Then we went in the classroom and I saw colourful cushions and bean bags and I felt nervous but excited! 

Caltlyn came to show us the rocks and the rocks were 700 year old. Next we went to play a game and the game was about trying to get to 50. My team was Kevin Mason T and Jai. 

After that we wenton to Scratch and we made our avatrre on to Scratch and our eels and we had to put stickers on them. My sprite was me and I added it to our back ground on paint  3D.

After that we went to play on the field and when we got on the field we played a game and the game was called hare in the whare and chain tag. Next we went to see the eels then we went on the bus to go back home.

My Holiday

On the holiday I went to kiarn birthday to the beach. we got lollies then we went for a swim and there was big waves and me and kiarn kept on getting bowled over. then we got to eat sausages and cake,  then we got the boogie boards and went down the sandjune. When kahi went down the sandjune he face planted and when he face planted we started laughing then we went on the bikes and when kiarn was riding his bike. he did a weley then we went to kiarn home and we played the xbox one and the nitedoswich and we got some of the cake and it was yame then we wote a miove and we wote king kone.

As I watede for my time to sine I got up and put my grises and we danced and we got to do fortnight dises. And it was so cool and I was with mason jai charlie and koda and the kina was eating as then we had to Go on.

Marine reserves are protected places where you cannot take anything from them.  You cannot do anything to them.  We need marine reserves so we could see more fish now and in the future. We need to protect the sea.
